Important information
Beta product
2ATREE is an experimental beta project. It may contain errors, change without notice, and suffer interruptions or loss of functionality.
We apply reasonable security measures, but no Internet-connected system can guarantee absolute security. We do not guarantee that the service is invulnerable or always available.
Tree identifications and assessments are automated approximations and do not replace professional advice.
2ATREE is currently an initiative or organisation in formation and does not yet have its own legal personality.
What is shared and why?
If you authorise contribution to the future open agricultural database, the following may be shared anonymously:
- Photographs of trees or plants, without EXIF metadata.
- Photograph date and time and an approximate position.
- Weather data associated with the area and preceding days.
- Identification, automated analysis and expert validation when available.
Nickname, account or device identifiers, exact GPS, comments, friendships and profile data are not included.
The purpose is to validate results and build a future public, free and open agricultural database under a provisional CC BY 4.0 licence pending legal review.
Participation is voluntary. You must expressly choose Yes or No and may withdraw consent from your profile. Withdrawal prevents new contributions but cannot recall copies already lawfully downloaded by third parties.
Data protection
2ATREE minimises data and allows use with a nickname, without requesting an email address or real name.
- Passwords are stored non-reversibly and sessions last no longer than 72 hours.
- The public location may be exact or approximate. Approximate mode retains a stable point displaced by up to 200 metres.
- Photographs are processed to remove EXIF metadata.
- Logs, tokens and temporary files managed by the application are retained for no more than 72 hours.
Users may permanently delete their account from the profile. Personal links are removed and only each tree’s latest photograph, species and approximate position remain on the public map.
This summary is provisional and does not replace the future privacy policy reviewed by a specialist company.
